Pablo Aguirre is a gifted and innovative artist from Argentina whose works embrace compositions of popular music as well as chamber music.
His works display a personal and renewing style of composition, which is based on classical structures that are united with the character of tango. His music is a renovation of the classical music tradition and at the same time the long awaited innovative further development of tango's structural reform after Piazzolla.
His quest is the search for a cultural identity, but fundamentally for its collective expression, but it`s a search based on the renovation and on the desire to keep living the cultural traditions.
He was honored as composer with several awards, such as the "Estímulo a la Creación" (award for the promotion of creativity) of the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (2008, 2004 and 1997) and the first prize of the University of Belgrano in the category of folk fusion (1987).
His classical pieces, to which he has devoted himself intensively during the last years, are presented world-wide, attracting steadily increasing attention.
